Virus and Malware removal Cumbernauld

There have been many bogus cold calls targeting people stating they are from Microsoft or Windows, they claim your computer have either connected to certain websites or become infected with viruses and they  intimidate to allow remote access to your computer / laptop. These calls are from fraudsters and completely fake. This is to scare you into allowing them access to your PC or laptop so they install viruses and then show you the viruses and then they remove asking for payment - total scam!  We have come across this many times and people have lost a lot of money allowing these fraudsters to connect to your PC / Laptop etc. If you have received such calls, call us for advice and we will help remove any software that they have installed and advise you on how to get your money back…

The National Crime Agency (NCA) has issued a warning regarding two pieces of malware software known as GOZeuS and

Cryptolocker. It has been discovered that this malware software is the cause of potentially one of the most dangerous

malware attacks in internet history - potentially putting millions of individuals and business in the UK at risk. It is estimated

that over 1 million computers worldwide are already infected with GOZeuS and Cryptolocker, of which over 15,500 are UK

based, and over £60 million has already been stolen.

Have You Caught the Fake “Police Virus” its Ransomware Are you locked out of your computer with images shown below Have you had any alarming notices claiming to be from the police (or other law-enforcement authorities) pop up on your computer, accusing you of various unpleasant and illegal activities and demanding a “fine”? I can tell you - it’s all fake. If you get a ‘warning’ like this when you turn on your computer, you’ve caught the  ‘Police Virus’. This has nothing to do with the real police- it’s an entirely fake criminal scam that uses made-up accusations as an excuse to hold your computer to ransom. In short, it’s just another form of “ransomware”- malware designed to extort money from the victim. There are many variants of the messages shown by the police virus, often tailored to fit different countries. For example, American versions claim to be from the FBI, Australian versions use their “Federal Police”, etc. Those in the UK often claim to be from the “Metropolitan Police”, but we’ve seen the identities of other UK police authorities used as well. Demands for payment via the Ukash service are common in UK-based versions. (We should make clear here that Ukash themselves are not the perpetrators of the scam). The Solution! We at TWComputers can remove the malware and secure your computer. We will also provide advice and software to avoid this happening again.
